SimThunder — Open Beta is now live!

Hello everyone! Hello gamers, hello holders, hello developers, hello sim racing enthusiasts! Are you ready for what we’ve been preparing for a long time?

We hope so because the wait is over — Simthunder has officially launched its Open Beta version in Polygon network! Get ready to explore the world of crypto and sim racing with this new marketplace, now open to all the sim racing and crypto community!

SimThunder, part of the Simracer Coin project, aims to be the ultimate marketplace for sim racers and a platform where they can monetise their skills and accomplishments. Get ready to trade in car skins, car setup files, car ownership and sim racing collectibles NFTs — the possibilities are endless!

Our new marketplace brings together the world of sim racing and crypto, allowing now users to purchase, trade, and sell simulation racing assets. Soon (very soon), it will also be possible to buy and sell sim racing NFT collectibles.

Car ownership NFTs

Car ownership NFTs represent entries in private virtual racing leagues/events. As a private league owner, you will be able to mint an NFT representing ownership of a specific car in a league, represented by its number, using SimThunder. You’ll also be able to sell or auction off that entry.

A private league, for example, with a large prize for the winners and limited entries could benefit from auctioning its entries NFTs. The prizes can be transferred to the owners of NFT if that car wins or earns any prize.

At this point it’s not possible to mint yet but there are already some of these items available to buy in our open beta. These are entries for our 2023 SimThunder Trophy, a competition that will take place in the iRacing simulator with a prize pool that will include 80% of all the SimThunder Trophy NFT entries (but we’re working on additional prizes!). Not all the entries are already available but we’ll add more in the coming weeks.

For private leagues/competitions that want similar NFTs for their competitions you can ask us and we’ll work together to make it happen!

Car skins/Paints

Car skins, also known as paint schemes, are files that contain the liveries that can be used in a specific car in a racing sim. Every sim racer wants to race with the best-looking car, and SimThunder allows you to buy and sell such files for various racing sims.

We had invited one painter to try the closed beta, the talented Marco Vilela from Portugal, and now some his creations are already available to buy in our open beta.

We now invite all painters out there to post your artwork and start earning from it!

Car setup files

Car setup files are files that contain mechanical adjustments for cars in various racing games (or racing simulators). These are worth their weight in gold for sim racers because, just like in real life, good mechanical adjustments can mean the difference between having a winning car and being stuck at the back of the pack. In this case, it is “private content” that can be traded in our marketplace rather than an NFT.

Coming soon — Sim racing collectibles

Have you imagine being the owner of the greatest moments from that league you race every week? With SimThunder that will be possible! Soon we’ll launch our own collection and then we’ll work with other sim racing organisations to create their own collections.

About Simracer Coin

Simracer Coin aims to close the gap between competitive sim racing and blockchain technology. Our main goal is to make sim racing even more enjoyable and realistic. For that, the first step was to create Simracer Coin.

We want to offer our token as a prize and keep the winners’ names on the blockchain in indefinitely by forming partnerships with existing leagues.
