SimThunder — Painters Roadbook

SimThunder, part of the Simracer Coin project, merges crypto and sim racing concepts into the perfect marketplace for sim racers. We recently launched the open beta version of this platform, where sim racing enthusiasts have the chance to exchange car skins, car setup files, car ownership NFTs, and (very soon) sim racing collectibles NFTs.

Among the existing possibilities of buying and selling on Simthunder’s current open beta, we want to talk about “car skins/paints”, directly to you: painter. As you surely know, car skins are files that save the design that sim racers can apply later to a particular car in a racing simulation.

With this in mind, we have decided to prepare this guide for you so that you can upload your art pieces and sell them without difficulties. We promise it will make things much easier!

Important! Simthunder is an Ethereum based DApp (decentralized app) so it needs an Ethereum compatible wallet in order to be used. We recommend using Metamask wallet as a browser extension. If you need help, click here.

So, first of all, you have to go to the site simthunder.com and login from there:

If you have the metamask installed, it should open its window; if not, it should ask you for other wallet options:

Note: Simthunder exists in the Polygon network, if that is not the network selected in your wallet, you’ll be asked to change to this one.

Once logged in, you should see your wallet address on the top right. The items available on the page will appear, as well as the possibility to buy and sell them.

To sell your paint, you need to click the “Sell” button at the top of the page and then select the option “Sell Skin” as shown below.

The next step is to upload (from your device) your skin to our marketplace. You must upload it as a .zip file. You should also upload an image that represents your paint in the marketplace. Just like this:

Decide your paint price in Simracer Coin ($SRC) and write down your car brand. Then, to finish, choose your simulator:

… and you’re ready to save your skin.

When you click on “Save skin,” you should be redirected to your wallet (if using the Metamask browser plugin, its window will open). You’ll also need to have $MATIC available (the crypto currency of the Polygon blockchain where Simthunder is deployed) to pay the transaction fee.

You can also buy $MATIC direclty using Metamask.

After the transaction completes, you should be able to see your paint listed on the homepage. The “store” option in the top left corner of the page will also display your car skin for sale.

Whenever someone purchases one of your paints, you will receive the corresponding amount of Simracer Coin ($SRC) which will be deposited into your crypto wallet.

To show your SRC balance in your wallet, you need to add Simracer Coin as a custom token with this address (in the Polygon network): 0xf0c3C4AC63Be272a94712bCcc39490A159Cd0D7C.
